This projector is very good in grayscale OOTB. The most minimal DeltaE error is 2.3 (which is barely noticed by a trained eye). It also showed subtle differences in color, such as when Adam slammed the light staff against the ground.
Other features include 3D Support Keystone Correction, 3D Support, and Automatic Focus. These features make installation easier. It also supports BenQ's standard configuration options. Subjectively I found the GP500 to have extremely accurate grayscale OOTB. I measured a DeltaE of just 2.3 which is less than what's visible to the human eye but still quite acceptable. The Dynamic Contrast feature was a great way to bring depth to the a few night scenes in Life of Pi and the color was stunning as well. Avatar was also awe-inspiring.

These can be beneficial for installations that aren't ideal as they make it easier to display a flat image. They do, however, degrade the quality of images. It is important to be aware of this.
